Meet Dontay, a bright and cheerful 4-year-old who loves to play like any other child his age. However, Dontay faces a daily challenge that many of us cannot imagine: asthma and a chronic cough. Despite his struggles, he refuses to let it hold him back from enjoying life to the fullest. When Dontay plays, he is acutely aware that it could trigger a coughing fit, which makes him slow down or sometimes avoid running altogether. It breaks his mother’s heart to see her little one struggle, but she remains hopeful that as he grows older, Dontay will learn to manage his asthma and not let it define him.
Él es Dontay, un niño de 4 años alegre y brillante al que le gusta jugar como a cualquier otro niño de su edad. Sin embargo, Dontay se enfrenta día a día con una dificultad que muchos de nosotros no podemos ni imaginar: asma y tos crónica. A pesar de su situación, se niega a permitir que su problema le impida disfrutar de su vida al máximo. Cuando Dontay juega está muy atento a lo que puede dispararle un cuadro de tos, lo que lo obliga a calmarse y, a veces, a dejar de correr con el resto de los niños. Es desgarrador para su madre ver luchar a su pequeño, pero no pierde las esperanzas de que Dontay aprenda a controlar su asma y no deje que su enfermedad lo defina durante su crecimiento.
