Youth Fellowship Class of 2022 celebrates Rites of Passage

Congratulations to the 15 Youth Fellows who graduated from the MBK Sacramento Youth Fellowship Class of 2022 on July 27! The 15-week program was an opportunity for young men of color ages 16 to 24 to lead community change, build brotherhood and take their leadership skills to the next level. Youth Fellows also addressed health, education, employment and justice inequities through their projects. We will post a graduation highlight video soon.

MBK Sacramento Youth Fellows launch mental health navigation webpage

As part of their Youth Fellowship program, Cohort 4 Youth Fellows launched the MBK Sacramento Brother Be Well webpage to remove barriers to accessing mental health support, increase the cultural responsiveness of mental health services for youth of color and increase their ability to navigate health systems to get care. The project was completed in partnership with Kaiser Permanente and Mental Health California’s Brother Be Well program.

Youth Fellowship All Access Podcast coming soon!

As part of the Youth Fellowship Cohort 4 program, the youth fellows created a podcast series through the Content Creative Academy led by 4YourEpiphany. The Mastermind series will inform, inspire and encourage other young men of color to engage in opportunities throughout the My Brother’s Keeper Sacramento network. We will post the podcast series on this page soon!

Youth Fellows to create MBK Sacramento Youth Ambassadors Program

The young men of Cohort 4 are planning a Youth Ambassadors Program to represent young men of color and remove barriers for them to engage in policy strategies at the city, county and state levels. They envision being involved in planning committees and special sessions, and will continue their learning to create opportunities for others to get involved. We will post more information on this page.
