The Center’s vision is for all people in California to live healthful lives. As we strive to improve health outcomes and promote health equity, the following focus areas guide our grantmaking programs and initiatives.

Community Economic Development

We lead and advocate for emerging economic development projects in California by adding value to communities’ commitment to develop and implement inclusive economic growth strategies in underinvested neighborhoods.

Health Equity and Access

We are working to create a California where every person has access to culturally responsive healthcare by ensuring health equity among populations disproportionately impacted by health disparities.

Healthy Youth Development

We organize resources to invest in change driven in partnership with California’s youth of color and their communities to shift power and align systems to center youth opportunity, health and well-being.

San Joaquin Valley Health Fund

We ensure nonprofit partners and grassroots community leaders are supported through funding, technical assistance, training, networking and data to build capacity to advance health and racial equity and racial justice through community organizing, civic engagement, power building, narrative, and policy and systems change advocacy.
