The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), announces the 21 awardees for the Foster Youth Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Evidence-Based and Promising Practices Program.
The program focuses on serving foster youth with SUDs, including those who reside in family-based settings.
Evidence-Based and Promising Practices
Awardees will develop and implement a variety of evidence-based and promising practices (EBPPs) to serve foster youth with SUDs, including those who are residing in family-based settings. These EBPPs must include, at minimum, trauma-informed approaches to serving foster youth, harm-reduction approaches in service delivery, post treatment support planning, and training for clinical service providers to support foster youth with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs.
The Foster Youth SUD Evidence-Based and Promising Practices Program is supported by the California Department of Health Care Services.
