San Ysidro Health built behavioral health infrastructure within its gender‑affirming care clinic, providing mental health services to 179 additional LGBTQIA+ patients.
Materials were translated; all staff were trained in culturally responsive care; three peers supported 30 individuals; and new peer orientations and support groups reduced wait times from 1–2 months to about one week.
