A Unified Voice for the Valley
The San Joaquin Valley Health Fund Policy Committee is a volunteer group of leaders from grantee partner organizations. They come together to provide a unified voice to advocate for health and racial equity and social justice in the San Joaquin Valley through legislation, policy and systems change.
Each year, the Policy Committee updates their policy platform in light of state and national developments in order to remain relevant to the most pressing issues facing the San Joaquin Valley. This platform elevates the needs of the San Joaquin Valley and is shared at the annual Equity on the Mall rally and during testimonials and meetings with legislators.

IHHEEL Policy Platform
The San Joaquin Valley Health Fund Policy Platform guides the work of community partner organizations to improve health and well-being by advancing programs and policy changes that promote community health and health equity for all.
The 2023 Policy Platform focuses on the following priority areas: Immigration, Health, Housing, Education, Environmental Justice, Land Use and Planning, and Digital Divide (IHHEEL). Each priority area in the document includes a vision, the background behind the need to pursue the work, and pathways toward clearly articulated outcomes. The Policy Platform is both opportunistic and aspirational, a reflection of the promise of the San Joaquin Valley and the commitment of its grassroots and organizational leaders to advancing health and racial equity.

Our issue briefs on Immigration, Health, Housing, Education, Environmental Justice, Land Use and Planning provide overviews of these key challenges facing disadvantaged communities in the San Joaquin Valley.
