Youth and Community PopUps

Important Notice:

During this time of widespread concern about the coronavirus (COVID-19), community partners have asked if Youth and Community PopUps should or will continue in Sacramento. After very careful consideration of the current situation, the risks, need for social distancing and other needed precautions, state directives and advice from public health agencies, the City of Sacramento and The Center at Sierra Health Foundation have decided to continue the events at this time. Project Background

Established in January 2019, Youth and Community PopUps provide Sacramento youth and their families with fun community-building activities, led by community partners throughout the city’s historically under-resourced neighborhoods.

The initiative’s Economic Mobility Program launched in June 2019 to serve local youth with a culturally relevant training series to build workforce readiness skills and on-the-job experience through paid internships in support of PopUps. As part of a coordinated city-community violence prevention and economic development effort, events are scheduled for every Friday and Saturday through June 30, 2020.

Youth and Community Pop Ups are funded by the City of Sacramento, managed by The Center at Sierra Health Foundation and operated by 23 community partner organizations.
