California Heritage Indigenous Research Project (CHIRP)

Nevada County

A community partner of the Behavioral Health Recovery Services Project

CHIRP established consistent, culturally grounded wellness and harm reduction programming for the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan community.

Thirty additional individuals received services across workshops, screenings, case management, focus groups and healing events; all staff were trained by Indigenous trainers in harm reduction, motivational interviewing and cultural practices; materials were translated; and three Tribal CHW peers supported 14 individuals directly.
